Mya Green

Mya Green has been with Coles County Regional Planning & Development Commission for less than a year. Mya is expecting a baby boy in October with her fiancé, has two dogs, and lives in Greenup, Illinois where she has lived her whole life. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, fishing, traveling, trying new restaurants, and being with her family.


Mya graduated from Cumberland High School in 2018. She received a full ride academic scholarship to Eastern Illinois University where she recently graduated from in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical/Environmental Geography.

Work Experience

Mya was a waitress throughout her 4 years of college at Chances R Sports Bar and Grill in Greenup, Illinois. During that time, she was an intern at the business administration offices for her 2018 fall semester at Eastern Illinois University. She also interned at the Coles County Regional Planning and Development Commission for her 2022 spring semester. She was hired on shortly after she graduated in May as the Solid Waste Coordinator and as a Community Planner.

Professional Affiliations

Mya is the secretary on the Executive Board of the Illinois Counties Solid Waste Management Association. She is also a member of the Illinois GIS Association.
